หลวงปู่มั่น ภูริทัตโต พระป่าผู้มีวินัยเคร่งครัด เป็นหลวงปู่สายวิปัสสนากรรมฐาน ที่มีพุทธศาสนิกชนไทยเคารพนับถือเป็นอย่างมาก
หลวงปู่มั่น ภูริทัตตเถระ อาจารย์สอนธรรมทางวิปัสสนา มีศิษยานุศิษย์มาก มีคนเคารพนับถือมาก ท่านกำเนิดในสกุล แก่นแก้ว ได้เรียนอักขรสมัยในสำนักของอา คือ เรียนอักษรไทยน้อย อักษรไทย อักษรธรรมและอักษรขอม อ่านออกเขียนได้ ท่านเรียนได้รวดเร็ว เพราะมีความทรงจำดีและมีความขยันหมั่นเพียร ชอบการเล่าเรียนศึกษา
เมื่อท่านอายุได้ 15 ปี ก็ได้บรรพชาเป็นสามเณรในสำนักวัดบ้านคำบง บวชแล้วได้ศึกษาความรู้ทางพระศาสนา มีสวดมนต์และสูตรต่าง ๆ ในสำนักบรรพชาจารย์ จดจำได้รวดเร็ว อาจารย์เมตตาปรานีมาก เพราะเอาใจใส่ในการเล่าเรียนดี ประพฤติปฏิบัติเรียบร้อย เป็นที่ไว้เนื้อเชื่อใจได้ และท่านได้ลาสิกขาบทออกมาช่วยงานบิดา-มารดาเมื่อตอนอายุ 17 ปี
ก่อนที่จะกลับมาบวชใหม่เนื่องจากคำสั่งเสียของยายที่อยากให้บวชให้ โดยบวชที่วัดเลียบ อ.เมือง จ.อุบลราชธานี จ.อุบลราชธานี ก่อนจะติดตาม หลวงปู่เสาร์ กันตสีโล ไปธุดงค์ในฝั่งลาว และได้รับคำสอนจากหลวงปู่เสาร์ในเรื่องการวิปัสสนากรรมฐาน
และเริ่มเดินธุดงค์ไม่ยึดติดสถานที่ ไปภาวนาแสดงหาสัจธรรมและเผยแผ่ธรรมมะตามป่าเขาทั้งภาคเหนือและภาคอีสาน จนมีพุทธศาสนิกชนคนไทยเคารพนับถือในความเคร่งครัดพระธรรมวินัยของท่านมากมาย บั้นปลายชีวิตของท่านมาจำพรรษาที่วัดป่าสุทธาวาส อ.เมือง จ.สกลนคร ก่อนจะละสังขารอย่างสงบ เมื่อวันที่ 11 พ.ย.2492 ที่วัดป่าสุทธาวาส จ.สกลนคร สิริอายุ 79 ปี พรรษา 56
และได้รับการประกาศยกย่องให้เป็นบุคคลสำคัญของโลก สาขาสันติภาพ จากที่ประชุมใหญ่สมัยสามัญขององค์การยูเนสโก เมื่อวันที่ 25 พ.ย.2562 ด้วย
นอกจากนี้ ในการตามรอยสายหลวงปู่มั่น เหล่าลูกศิษย์ผู้ศรัทธาจะทราบกันดีว่า วัดป่านาคนิมิตต์ในปัจจุบันเคยเป็นสถานที่ที่ หลวงปู่มั่นปักกลด และเล่ากันว่าวัดป่านาคนิมิตต์ สร้างบนแผ่นดินที่พญานาคมาทำรอยไว้ให้หลวงปู่มั่น สร้างกุฏิ จึงนับเป็นผืนดินอันศักดิ์สิทธิ์ที่เราจะได้มีโอกาสสร้างพระเจดีย์ถวายแด่พระพุทธเจ้า เราจึงอยากร่วมส่งต่อบุญกุศลในครั้งนี้ ด้วยการบอกบุญกฐินวัดป่านาคนิมิตต์ ใครที่มีศรัทธาในหลวงปู่มั่น สามารถร่วมงานกฐินพระราชทาน วัดป่านาคนิมิตต์ สกลนคร ในวันอาทิตย์ที่ 24 ตุลาคม 2564 แบบออนไลน์และร่วมทำบุญได้ที่
